Job Summary

Pérez Art Museum Miami¿s (PAMM) marketing team is looking for an aspiring Graphic Designer intern for Fall 2025! We will show you how to utilize your creative skills to design engaging graphics and dynamic content for a nationally ranked museum. This includes but is not limited to fliers, posters, photographs, motion graphics, videos, website content, newsletter templates, infographics, banner ads, and contributing to other marketing and outreach efforts as necessary. The Graphic Design Student Intern will work collaboratively across key administrative departments to learn about best practices in marketing for the museum field while performing project-based tasks to fulfill design needs across the museum. You will have the opportunity to learn about marketing and digital media management for a museum. As part of our Museum Management Internship program, you will also gain general arts administration skills.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide marketing team support by taking on special design tasks. 
  • Visual content creation and editing for web and print.  
  • Image or video editing. 
  • Website updates. 
  • Administrative duties as assigned. 

Learning Outcomes: 

  • Students will explore career tracks in the museum world. 
  • Students will gain hands-on graphic design experience and build a portfolio of work.  
  • Students grow creatively while applying graphic design and marketing knowledge to serve the museums growing digital needs.   
  • Students will have the opportunity to network. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • FIU Humanities Edge student pursuing a degree in Art, Education, Graphic Design, Museum Studies, Nonprofit Management, or related fields. 
  • Schoolwork and abilities in graphic design or Digital Media production.   
  • Advertising, and/or marketing coursework a plus with interest in digital media marketing.  
  • Solid computer skills (Adobe Creative Suite) and ability to learn (Knowledge of WordPress is a plus but not necessary). 
  • Video Editing or Photography abilities - a plus 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Academic knowledge or practical experience in performing the essential responsibilities. 
  • Flexibility and curiosity with assignments.
  • Pride and initiative in work.
  • Creativity and attention to detail.

Student Disclosure

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters. 
  • During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
  • Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday. 
  • Location: Perez Art Museum Miami at 1103 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132
  • Will work during regular office hours, with occasional special events outside of normal business hours  (9:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.) 
  • One semester internship. 
  • 10 to 12 weeks not to exceed 144 hours per semester.

Advertised Salary

$18.00/hour

Working Condition(s)

Office Setting but must be able to:  

  • Walk, bend, lift (up to 20 pounds) files, office supplies and electronic equipment.  
  • Finger dexterity to pick up paper and use computer keyboard. 
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as:  preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.   
  • Ability to hear in normal tones including telephone and face-to-face conversation.
