Job Summary
The Curatorial Intern at the Frost Art Museum- FIU will build their skills as aspiring art professional through honing their research and writing skills while receiving exposure to a wide variety of museum operations and practices.
Curatorial Fall 2025 Intern Responsibilities:
Conduct high level research for forthcoming exhibitions of historic and contemporary art
Be mentored by the museum's curator and registrars
Learn the basics of writing labels for museums
Assist with digital programming related to collections and exhibitions
Develop content for social media and the museum's newsletter
Collaborate with museum colleagues in education to realize successful events
Minimum Qualifications
- Open to Humanities majors only (Art, Art History, English, History, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Modern Languages, etc.).
- At least 3 semesters of FIU work experience or related experience outside the University with satisfactory or higher from prior student appointment.
- Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Suites.
- Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.
- Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software programs, such as PantherSoft and Salesforce.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally, and in writing.
- Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills.
- Ability to solve problems independently.
- Organizational and time management skills.

Student Disclosure
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
- During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
- Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.
Work Schedule
- 10 to 12 weeks not to exceed 144 hours per semester

$18.00/hour
