Job Summary:
The Janitorial Lead supports the Project by performing groundskeeping and landscaping services. The successful candidate will maintain the aesthetic and functional integrity of all green spaces, ensuring compliance with maintenance standards and safety protocols.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Mow, edge, trim, and fertilize lawns using appropriate equipment and methods
- Apply herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Remove weeds, debris, and litter from grounds.
- Operate and maintain landscaping tools and machinery (mowers, blowers, trimmers, etc.)
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds and report any damage or issues to Supervisor.
- Follow established schedules, SOPS, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial or government grounds maintenance.
- Knowledge of landscaping techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
- Ability to read site maps and landscaping plans.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Ability to pass a medical assessment and drug screening.
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
- Certification in pesticide/herbicide application.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical Requirements:
Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
