Job Summary/Scope
Handles all duties related to prisoner intake and security for the Police Department. No supervisory or budgetary responsibility.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

City employees shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and shall exhibit and extend such professional conduct appropriate for the circumstances to those with whom they come into contact both internally and externally during the performance of their duties. Examples of professional conduct include, but are not limited to, being communicative, informative, fair, honest, and respectful.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Material and Equipment Directly Used
Operates a variety of equipment including computers, calculators, and at times department approved self-defense equipment, such as Pepper Spray and Taser. There may be times when use of personal vehicles may be required.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements
Work is performed in an indoor/controlled environment. Must be able to pass a physical agility test. Must be able to help physically restrain arrestees as needed. As a condition of employment, no tobacco products may be used while on duty except while on break. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor. Overtime hours may be required as needed.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Passing of a drug screening and a criminal background check is required prior to appointment.
