Job Summary
History Miami Museum is looking for a Collections Intern to join their team for the Fall 2025 semester. The Student Collections Intern at HistoryMiami Museum will perform tasks ranging from assistance with three-dimensional artifact cataloging and care to data management of audio assets.
Responsibilities include:
Organization and data entry into HMM¿s Miami Stories finding aid
Digital file organization
Assistance with Object Collection operations
General Collections tasks
**Other related duties may be assigned
The Collections Student Internship will:
Provide exposure to different facets of collections care and maintenance of a variety of 3-D and digital materials.
Gain an overall understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of a museum collections team.
Be supervised by Collections professionals.
Be exposed to Oral History collection and organization.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 3 semesters of FIU work experience or related experience outside the University with satisfactory or higher from prior student appointment.
Requires a letter of recommendation from one prior supervisor.
Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.
Ability to work in a team setting.
Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Suites.
Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.
Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software programs, such as PantherSoft and Salesforce.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally, and in writing.
Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills.
Ability to solve problems independently.
Organizational and time-management skills.

- Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
- During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
- Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.
Work Schedule
- Location: History Miami Museum - 101 W Flagler St, Miami, FL 33130
- 10 to 12 weeks not to exceed 144 hours per semester
